The information on West Side Tri Club is general guidance for people getting into running and triathlon. We share it in good faith, but please read the points below before you act on it.
Not medical advice
Nothing on this site is medical advice. Triathlon training asks a lot of your body, and everyone starts from a different place. If you have a health condition, you are coming back to exercise after a long break, or something hurts, talk to your doctor before you start or continue. The content here is general information, not a substitute for professional care.
Water safety
Open water is not a swimming pool. Currents, cold, and depth make it a different and more serious environment. Always swim somewhere safe and supervised, never alone, and build up gradually. A wetsuit helps you float and keeps you warm, but it is not a safety device and does not make you immune to trouble. If you are new to open water, learn it with people who know it.
